When setting up your first website it is easy to get confused between domain name registration and web hosting.
Your domain name is the name of your website or your url, in our case “www.fromthesticks.co.uk” and can be purchased by going to any domain name registrar or we can do this on your behalf. Domain names usually range in price depending on the extension you choose, for example the more recently released extensions such as .property are more expensive than the more traditional .co.uk and .com domains.
In order for your website to appear on the internet, the files need to be uploaded to a server. Hosting is usually billed monthly or annually depending on how much space and bandwidth you require. To find out more about our hosting packages check out our hosting options page.
Domain names can be purchased anywhere, if you have an existing domain we can point it to our server to get you up and running. If you are starting a new website we can register it on your behalf giving you the convenience of the domain registration and hosting all in the same place.
